Volunteering
We request, but do not require, that each member household volunteers at least once over
the course of the season. The two primary volunteer opportunities are the special member
workdays (see schedule below) and helping with a distribution.
Helping at distribution means working with the on duty staff to keep the displays stocked,
sell the non-CSA products, and keep the place neat and organized. There will be a sign up
calendar in the distribution area if you are interested in that option.
We also love tastings! We welcome members to sign up for a tasting (on the calendar) and
prepare a dish of mostly CSA ingredients to share during a distribution.
If you have a desire to hoe crops, help harvest, write for the newsletter, deliver produce,
play music at distribution, fix trucks, build a greenhouse, redesign our website, paint signs,
organize a harvest festival, help sell at a farmers market, or just about anything else on the
farm, let us know. We’d be glad to have your help.
Member Workdays:
Bring the whole family for a couple of hours of work on your farm. The work is simple and as
leisurely or non-leisurely as you want it to be. It’s amazing to see what a large group of
people can accomplish!
- Saturday, July 15 - 9am-Noon: Garlic Harvest
Help break last year’s record: 10,000 bulbs in 2 hours!
- Saturday, August 26 – 9am-Noon: Onion Cleaning
For those who prefer to take their farmwork sitting down.
- Saturday, September 30 – 9am-Noon: Sweet Potato Harvest
Will give you a new appreciation for what it takes to put food on the table.
